Keyvon

I am speaking and leading a funeral service for a little baby named Keyvon. He was born on January 1st and died on February 5th. The parents are teenagers.

It's tragic. It's hard on the parents. Apparently the child died from sids.

My thoughts today will begin with the thought that there are a lot more questions than answers.

We don't have all the answers.

We don't know why Keyvon was taken before he had a chance to live.

We don't know the talents and abilities that this child had.

We don't know the impact he could have made on the world.

But we do know that Keyvon was a unique child who's short life was very meaningful in God's eyes.

We do know that God didn't cause his death but God can bring something good out of it.

We don't know why it happened, but I do know God and God can be trusted.

And perhaps, just perhaps, in the sovereignty of God, Keyvon has been saved from a life of tragedy and pain.

Keyvon is in the safe, secure arms of God. He's in heaven. Heaven is a safe place of love, joy and happiness. A place of joy.

God has his arms around Keyvon right now.

Life is hard.

Life is difficult.

We must continue to trust in God - and God will continue to see us through.

My heart goes out to the family of this young baby. Loss of a child is so hard to bear, especially when it comes so unexpectedly. But you're right...we must trust that God has young Keyvon in His hands now and believe that it was best for him. There are no answers at a time like this that do not some empty and hollow...we want to understand why these things happen and there are no answers. But if we trust in God our Father, He will bless us and lead us along this path to peace and comfort. God is in charge, He leads the steps of the righteous man/woman, and He will make all things right in the end.

I pray God's peace and comfort for this hurting family. I pray God's love and wisdom be heaped upon them in the future. I pray that this unfortunate death be used to strike the hearts and minds of those who do not seek the Creator, to bring their minds to seek Him for answers and for guidance and for comfort. While we may never understand why this happened until we can ask God face-to-face, we can rest in the knowledge that Keyvon is sitting at the feet of the Master right now, being loved and taken care of throughout eternity. While we're in pain over this issue, know that God can work a miracle in your life. He can ensure that you will see Keyvon again if you but ask Him to accept you into the family of Christ. God loves you, in spite of all things that you may think otherwise, and He loves you so deeply that He weeps with you in loss and He holds out His hands to comfort you in times like these. Open your heart to the Word of God, ask Jesus to help you and heal you and forgive you, admit the birth/death/resurrection of the Son of God, and be saved for all eternity. And see Keyvon in heaven when you join him at the feet of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We love you and grieve with you...let us comfort you as well. Surround yourself with family and your brothers and sisters in Christ. We can't change the past but we can help to make the future brighter.

God loves you. We love you.

May God bless and keep you all of your days.
